The Community Tool Box provides over 6,000 pages of practical skill-building
information on over 250 different topics. Topic sections include step-by-step
instruction, examples, checklists, and related resources on the topic of community
development.

The Community Development Program at Northwestern University’s Institute
for Policy Research established the Asset-Based Community Development Institute
(ABCD) in 1995. The ABCD Institute web site provides a history and description
of its community development philosophy and has resources and tools for community
builders to identify, nurture, and mobilize neighborhood assets.

Equitable Development Toolkit: (www.policylink.org/EquitableDevelopment/)
These tools have been crafted to help community builders achieve equitable development
in diverse, mixed-income neighborhoods. The tools are grouped into four categories
(Affordable Housing, Controlling Development, Financing Strategies, and Income/Asset
Creation) and are based on the most successful strategies developed in culturally
diverse communities around the country.
