Grant Cycle Information

How Grantees are Selected
Grant recipients are selected by ad hoc peer-reviewed panels convened by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, and composed of nationally recognized public and private sector leaders. Panels represent pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, nursing, health policy, educational psychology, social work, and public health. Federal guidelines also require that the panels be balanced with respect to geographic and minority representation. Unfunded applicants will receive a summary of the application's strengths and weaknesses.

Future Grant Opportunities
Healthy Tomorrows has an annual grant cycle. Announcements of grant opportunities for the Healthy Tomorrows Program are published in the HRSA Preview (http://www.hrsa.gov/grants/) usually in the summer or fall. Application deadlines are generally in September or October. Continue to check this Web site for up to date information on the funding cycle.

If you are planning to apply for a federal grant in the future, please register with Grants.gov (www.grants.gov). This is a requirement for applicants of all HRSA grants.

To receive notification of a new Healthy Tomorrows grant cycle and other funding opportunities, please send your name and e-mail address to healthyt@aap.org.

HTPCP Supplemental Materials Booklet: The AAP produces a supplemental materials booklet which contains helpful hints in the application process and is to be used as a supplemental resource to the federal grant application instructions,
The HTPCP Supplemental Materials Booklet is available at: http://www.aap.org/commpeds/htpcp/supplemental.html. This booklet is updated annually for each grant cycle.

To receive program information, consultation regarding development of a proposal, or a printed copy of the HTPCP Supplemental Materials Booklet, please e-mail your name, address, telephone and fax numbers to: healthyt@aap.org.
